Introduction

We have finally reached the third edition of our strategy guide, and as in the previous editions, we strongly recommend reading the earlier guides if you haven’t done so yet.
To make it easier, we’ve included the links below:

If you’ve read the previous guides, you already know that Gulaba is a game that challenges players to develop sharp strategic thinking. To be victorious, it’s essential to have a detailed understanding of every card you bring into battle. That’s why reading this and the other guides is so crucial — it’s a game-changer for you.

In this guide, we will cover armors and how they are critical in determining the outcome of a match. Enjoy the reading and have fun with the following lines!

Armor Cards: Protection and Resilience

In Gulaba, armors play a fundamental role during the match, as they can influence the hero’s basic defense value, resistance against the enemy’s weapon attack, and also affect the hero’s speed, resistance to debuffs caused by the opponent’s weapon, and the enemy weapon’s hit rate.

All these attributes mentioned above are hidden values within the graphical elements of the card. Thus, different elements will have unique values and classifications. Understanding these particularities will put you in a privileged position in the ranking.

Types of Armors

As you might imagine, an armor serves as a protective element during battle. The type of armor a hero possesses will determine how much damage they can endure or suffer. Gulaba features 5 types of armors, as shown in the image below:

Type of Armors

Gulaba simplifies the understanding of each armor and how it performs in different situations. Simply by observing the name and appearance, you can deduce how each armor functions. For instance, Iron Fist, being made of metal, is extremely susceptible to lightning. However, as it is forged in fire, its wearer won’t need to worry about heat-related attacks.

The same reasoning applies to Homeless. Made of old cardboard, it is terrible against enemies wielding cold or ice attacks, but it is the most suitable armor for lightning strikes.

If you’re donning the Flying Barrel, a flying wine barrel, don’t even think of facing a fire-wielding enemy, as you’ll likely end up using it as firewood. However, it boasts high resistance against wind-based attacks.

When facing opponents with freezing cold attacks, I recommend equipping the Bloody Face, as its thick shell offers protection against the cold. But beware of sacred attacks, as this armor is undoubtedly cursed.

These are a few key tips to consider when choosing your armor. Remember, certain combinations, such as armor type and hero race, can significantly influence resistance to attacks and other attributes.

Armor Color

Just like weapons, armors have a color attribute that alters their behavior. In total, there are 9 colors and states that represent the basic defense value of the armor. See all of them in the image below:

Armor Color

The color attribute has some interesting and intuitive details. For instance, we know that gold is better than silver, and silver is better than iron. Therefore, when choosing an armor, always prioritize those with colors that resemble wealth and more precious metals. Another important detail is that an armor with glitter offers more resistance than one without it. Thus, the more you shine, the more resistant your armor will be.

Clock Hands

We’ve created something unique in Gulaba: the clock hand. On the armor, the position indicated by the clock hand represents the speed attribute of the armor. This attribute determines who will strike first in the duel. While this might not seem highly significant, starting the attack gives you an advantage over your opponent, a factor that could be decisive at the end of the battle.

According to the position indicated by the clock hand, the armor’s speed bonus value is as follows:

Notice that the further we go back in time, the faster the speed becomes.

Green, Red, and Black Magic Embroidery

When examining an armor card, you’ll notice embroidery on it, which can appear in three colors: green, red, and black. These embroideries are magical circles blessed by the priests of the Temple of Time. These magical circles can neutralize three debilitating debuffs caused by cursed weapons. Specifically:

  • Green embroidery resists Poison Debuff.
  • Red embroidery resists Bleeding Debuff.
  • Black embroidery resists Virus Debuff.

You’ll notice that these embroideries can vary in their completeness, ranging from fully finished to hollow, representing an incomplete embroidery. If the magical embroidery is drawn as a hollow four-leaf clover, it will carry even more curse power. Thus, the degree of embroidery completion determines the armor’s resistance to curses.

At first, the damage from a curse debuff may not seem significant. However, with each round, the curse’s damage doubles. As the rounds progress, the damage becomes terrifying, posing a significant threat to defensive card combinations.

To understand how it all works, refer to the table below:

Badge

I was once told, “It doesn’t matter how strong your punch is if it only hits the wind.” This ancient saying only made sense after we developed the badge strategy. In GulabaMeta, the chest emblem often hides the most critical information: the hit rate! Depending on the badge your hero wears on their chest, it can reduce the opponent’s hit rate, thereby preventing devastating attacks from landing.

In the table below, you can see the relation of each badge:

Final Considerations

Well, we’ve reached the end of yet another Gulaba Strategy Guide, and we’re thrilled to have discussed armor — after all, it’s the second most important item for a hero, right after their weapon. As the saying goes, sometimes the best offense is a good defense, and armor represents this principle perfectly.

In this guide, we’ve learned important concepts, such as how to use badges to reduce the opponent’s attack accuracy or how choosing shinier colors can result in more powerful armor.

There are countless possibilities that a deeper understanding of armor can unlock. So, dive into this guide and aim to become the king of battles.

That’s all for now. See you in the next articles and during your battles in GulabaMeta!⚔️🔥
